Before downloading and playing the game, you should keep in mind that the game is still in alpha. That means that you should be expecting crashes, hangs, slowdowns, crappy art and dialogs, things to bug out and generally to have a bad time. We make these downloads available so we can gather feedback that will help us complete the game eventually. Check the FAQ on how to contact us for feedback or suggestions!
Spirates is a free work-in-progress 2D pirate and space exploration RPG for PC and Linux. You start your journey with a raft and a sword and swashbuckle your way to be the most feared pirate of the seven procedurally generated seas .. of space. There are many curiosities along the way for you to uncover, from annoying anthropomorphic cats to heartless cyborgs and brain-hungry zombies.
Lefteris and Manios are Electrical and Computer Engineering graduates from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. They started Spirates as a side project while still attending there in 2012.

We don't have a GUI for it and everything is done by text editing. The command line (accessed with `) is quite powerful

Yes you can, but it is up to you to find out how to do any of these things.
